We source all of our ingredients locally from trusted supply partners—ranchers, farmers, and fishermen. They provide us these ingredients in their freshest, most natural, and nourishing form.
Champion produces the most authentic, highest quality pet food, which is why all of it is made in our award-winning kitchens in Alberta, Canada and Kentucky, USA. We never outsource any of our production nor do we manufacture food for anyone else. Our kitchens were designed by us, for us.

Champion’s pet foods are made in our two state-of-the-art kitchens—NorthStar® in Canada and DogStar® in the United States. These kitchens are custom designed to meet our stringent specifications in the use of over 50 different types of fresh meat, poultry, and fish ingredients besides farm-fresh produce.
In particular, the Dogstar® kitchen won the inaugural 2017 Global Markets Award from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). This prestigious award was one of many recognitions to follow, including the 2016 Design-Build Institute of America Award in the Industrial, Process and/or Research Facilities category. Our kitchen was the first pet-food kitchen to win this award and set the industry standard for what is possible in purpose-driven design.
Every pet lover knows that you can have the best, most nutritious food, but if it doesn’t taste good, your pet will not eat it. We use proprietary freeze dryers and hydrolyzing units to develop the natural flavors of our ingredients so you can rest assured that your pet will love them.

We conduct on-site testing to validate the quality and nutritional specifications of our ingredients. We review our processes and test the food at all stages of production.
