Your Cat Is Special

ACANA benefits cats of every variety. Just like you, your cat is unique and feeding requirements will vary with environment, age, and activity. The table below provides a starting point, to be adjusted as needed. We recommend feeding twice daily and always keeping fresh water available.

CALORIE DISTRIBUTION

Unique compared to conventional foods, ACANA delivers more calories from protein and fat and fewer calories from carbohydrates, reducing the risk of obesity and promoting your cat’s peak health.

Metabolizable Energy is 4080 kcal/kg (490 kcal per 250ml/120g cup), with 36% from protein, 22% from fruits and vegetables, and 42% from fat.

  Your cat is a carnivore and biologically adapted for a diet rich in fish and meat. Equipped with sharp teeth, a single-hinge jaw, and a short digestive tract, domestic cats are anatomically designed to break down protein and fat from fish and meat.

  That’s why we loaded ACANA Pacifica with 75% wild-caught Pacific pilchard, flounder, silver hake, and rockfish, all fished off Vancouver Island.

  ACANA derives its rich protein content from fish ingredients, not plants, supporting lean muscle mass and nourishing your cat completely.

  We use fresh fish in its most natural and nourishing form. That’s why 1/2 of the fish in ACANA Pacifica are fresh, and 1/2 are dried or oils to provide a concentrated source of nourishing fish protein.

• Your cat has no nutritional requirement for carbohydrates and his natural diet contains very few, if any. Carbohydrates are widely recognized as a leading cause of obesity and diabetes – yet conventional cat foods often exceed 50% carbohydrate content.
