Champion manufactures pet foods with high-quality animal protein, few carbohydrates, and naturally sourced vitamins and minerals, as well as a balanced fatty-acid profile. Our foods are made in accordance with three simple, fundamental standards:

We source all our ingredients from trusted ranchers, farmers, and fishers who provide us with only the freshest, most natural and nourishing meat, poultry, fish, and produce.

Champion produces the most authentic, highest quality pet food, which is why all of it is made in our award-winning kitchens in Alberta, Canada and Kentucky, USA. We never outsource any of our production nor do we manufacture food for anyone else. Our kitchens were designed by us, for us.

Award-Winning Pet Food Made at Award-Winning Kitchens

Champion’s pet foods are made in our two state-of-the-art facilities, which we refer to as Kitchens, because we make all of our foods in-house. We care so much about how our food is made that we’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars to build the most sanitary, more state-of-the art facilities in the industry, surpassing most human food facilities.

Our NorthStar in Canada and DogStar in the United States are custom-built to meet our stringent specifications in the use of over 50 different types of fresh meat, poultry, and fish ingredients, as well as farm-fresh produce.

The Dogstar Kitchen won the inaugural 2017 Global Markets Award from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). This prestigious award was one of many recognitions that have followed, including the 2016 Design-Build Institute of America Award in the Industrial, Process and/or Research Facilities category. Our kitchen was the first pet food kitchen to win this award and set the industry standard for what is possible in purpose-driven design.

Every Pet Lover knows that you can have the best, most nutritious food, but if it doesn’t taste good, your pet will not eat it. We use proprietary freeze-dryers and hydrolyzing units to develop the natural flavours of our ingredients so you can rest assured that your pet will love them.
